Halloween

With a horse on one side, and a horse shoe on the other, our pumpkin won 2nd place in the carving contest at Ronald McDonald House yesterday!
Here is the first place winners, carved by another family. Love it!
Photo: And here's the winning pumpkin(s) in our contest. Fitting and frightening!! :)
Yesterday we bundled up and had fun in the snow!

 Snow Angel!
Painting the costume for the IKUS!

Minnie Mouse driving the Minnie Mouse Mobile! It's the first time anyone has decorated the IKUS, and everyone loved it, including Sara.

Beautiful Belle getting her face painted for the day.

Trick-or-treating down the hallways of the hospital! Later on in the afternoon while Sara napped, we went back to Ronald McDonald House to for some games, songs and more trick-or-treating!
 Cutest Minnie Mouse ever!
Our family - Nurse, Minnie Mouse, Cowboy and Belle. (And yes, I did get mistaken for a nurse a couple times today, lol!)
Hailey, you're so beautiful!

It was a long day, with a lot of candy, but a lot of fun!

Fun Weekend!

Sara is over her cold! She has been for a number of days, and she's back to playing at the Beach and looking forward to dressing up for Halloween here at the hospital. This weekend has been good, Joel & I got out to an oil kings hockey game last night, and this afternoon Hailey & Joel went to another game! (Lovin' the free tickets!) We're also working on a costume for the IKUS, and carving pumpkins! I'll be posting pictures later this week!

Please pray that Sara's anti-coagulation drugs (Warfarin, Dipridamol, and Asprin) will balance out again. It is always hard to level it out in kids because it depends a lot on how they eat and what they eat. But since Sara's cold is gone, she's been on higher doses. She has also needed Enoxaparin from time to time, which they have to give by needle. This would work well on a normal kid, but for Sara is causes large bruising at the site because she bleeds even after pressure is held for 20 minutes. We're thankful that this weekend has been going well for her, and her levels are were they need to be!

We're still hoping Sara will receive a new heart soon, knowing it has ups & downs of its own, but looking forward to that road that takes us home again. Thanks for praying for us and for our friends who are also struggling with health issues here- Isabel, Hope, Joell, Morgan, Precious, Lukas, Muskan, Alexis, and Cohen.

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 Thank you Jesus that we can come to you for our every need!

Colds & Cutiepies!

It's been so long since we've posted! The only news we have is that Sara has a cold. Her stuffy nose just came on yesterday, so she needed oxygen blowby to keep her sats up at night. Pray that she'll be over the cold soon, and pray that we stay healthy!

We're still enjoying visitors, walks, playing at the beach & in the pool. Most days Sara has friends who are also patients here walk by her room to say hi. It's really nice getting to know the other families here. Keep Isabel, Hope, Muskan, Alexis, Lukas & Joell in your prayers please.

The girls are getting excited about dressing up for Halloween, they were both given costumes here at the hospital. Hailey's excited to be Ariel, The Little Mermaid, and Sara is the cutest Minnie Mouse. The girls were also given a guitar, the staff here though that our family would get the most use out of it! We're so thankful for the staff here, they're spoiling our girls!

baking & waiting

Every week there are volunteers that come to bake at the Ronald McDonald House, so this time Hailey joined in and had a blast making cookies!

And of course everyday Sara is at the Beach, so here she is dressed up for a party, with the food she made!

Sara's doing well and feeling well. We had a great weekend, and Hailey was thrilled to have a weekend away with Auntie Dawn & Uncle John. Today was a pool day, and it was so much fun! Thanks for praying, we're doing ok with the waiting game.

Please keep praying for Hope, she made it through today, pray for her recovery, and peace for her family.
