Sara is over her cold! She has been for a number of days, and she's back to playing at the Beach and looking forward to dressing up for Halloween here at the hospital. This weekend has been good, Joel & I got out to an oil kings hockey game last night, and this afternoon Hailey & Joel went to another game! (Lovin' the free tickets!) We're also working on a costume for the IKUS, and carving pumpkins! I'll be posting pictures later this week!
Please pray that Sara's anti-coagulation drugs (Warfarin, Dipridamol, and Asprin) will balance out again. It is always hard to level it out in kids because it depends a lot on how they eat and what they eat. But since Sara's cold is gone, she's been on higher doses. She has also needed Enoxaparin from time to time, which they have to give by needle. This would work well on a normal kid, but for Sara is causes large bruising at the site because she bleeds even after pressure is held for 20 minutes. We're thankful that this weekend has been going well for her, and her levels are were they need to be!
We're still hoping Sara will receive a new heart soon, knowing it has ups & downs of its own, but looking forward to that road that takes us home again. Thanks for praying for us and for our friends who are also struggling with health issues here- Isabel, Hope, Joell, Morgan, Precious, Lukas, Muskan, Alexis, and Cohen.
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 Thank you Jesus that we can come to you for our every need!

Colds & Cutiepies!
It's been so long since we've posted! The only news we have is that Sara has a cold. Her stuffy nose just came on yesterday, so she needed oxygen blowby to keep her sats up at night. Pray that she'll be over the cold soon, and pray that we stay healthy!
We're still enjoying visitors, walks, playing at the beach & in the pool. Most days Sara has friends who are also patients here walk by her room to say hi. It's really nice getting to know the other families here. Keep Isabel, Hope, Muskan, Alexis, Lukas & Joell in your prayers please.
The girls are getting excited about dressing up for Halloween, they were both given costumes here at the hospital. Hailey's excited to be Ariel, The Little Mermaid, and Sara is the cutest Minnie Mouse. The girls were also given a guitar, the staff here though that our family would get the most use out of it! We're so thankful for the staff here, they're spoiling our girls!

baking & waiting
Every week there are volunteers that come to bake at the Ronald McDonald House, so this time Hailey joined in and had a blast making cookies!
And of course everyday Sara is at the Beach, so here she is dressed up for a party, with the food she made!
Please keep praying for Hope, she made it through today, pray for her recovery, and peace for her family.

just the two of us...
This is from Nathan & Jesin's wedding! And as I look back on the wonderful day that this picture was taken, I can't help but be sad about Sara. I miss the summer with her, the fun times camping, and traveling with our family. Thanks for praying. Today was a great day, just the two of us.

Praying for Hope
As Sara continues to improve on the Berlin Heart, we are so blessed that she can be well going into a heart transplant.
Right now, I'm thinking about a family we just met who share our faith in the Lord. Please pray with me for a little girl named Hope. Her family is facing some extremely hard decisions and they need comfort & encouragement. Pray for rest for this weekend, and especially for Hope's surgery on Monday. We know God is good, and we're praying that good would come out of this situation, to glorify God.
" Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves... Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:10, 12
I also am not sure why the blog hasn't been working well, sometimes not showing pictures or the background. Sorry if you're having trouble viewing it.

more of the same
Sara has been doing well with eating, although sometimes the meds make her vomit. It's mainly because the meds taste awful, and she has such a great gag reflex! Please keep praying that she'll eat well, and gain weight. We're doing well too, it's nice to have a more of a schedule to follow now. You can also pray for Hailey, that she'll enjoy our school time together, and that she'll work hard, and do her best. It's hard to be away from Sara, but it's also good motivation to finish her work when she wants to go see Sara.
We're still enjoying company, the pool, the beach, and walks in the sunshine :) Thanks for following along with us on the blog!

Pictures!
On the way to the pool! That's the way we get around now!
Every Monday & Friday we spend time in the pool, here's Sara sitting on Dad!
Sara loves chocolate once in a while, and it was so good!
Working up an appetite has been getting a little easier with her walking around so much, but it could be better, and that would help her blood thinners level out.
Playing in the Tipi outside the hospital, we went off the sidewalk to get into it and got a pine cone stuck in the IKUS wheel!
A great visit with friends who know all about a heart transplant!
Busy Builder Sara working hard at the Beach! With all the activity centers there, she pretty entertained, and fairly entertaining!
We love walks, and Sara's now walking for longer then 10 min.
Loving the sunshine!
We found a new playroom, so we'll make use of it when the Beach is closed. New toys are always fun!Playing ring toss with Hailey!
Sara spotted my earbuds, so we listened to music for a while, fun times!
Sara's night sky
We're getting to know the hospital halls well with all the walks we take.Sara's sure looking good, especially now that her stitches are out and she can shower.
Camp friends have the best skits ever!
Hailey trying to explain the new story from our camp friends, the pictures are super awesome!
Love the new clothes from Auntie Dawn, thanks!
All ready for school!
It's nice to have everything organised now, we'll have to get at it now that all our school books are in!
