Sara is over her cold! She has been for a number of days, and she's back to playing at the Beach and looking forward to dressing up for Halloween here at the hospital. This weekend has been good, Joel & I got out to an oil kings hockey game last night, and this afternoon Hailey & Joel went to another game! (Lovin' the free tickets!) We're also working on a costume for the IKUS, and carving pumpkins! I'll be posting pictures later this week!
Please pray that Sara's anti-coagulation drugs (Warfarin, Dipridamol, and Asprin) will balance out again. It is always hard to level it out in kids because it depends a lot on how they eat and what they eat. But since Sara's cold is gone, she's been on higher doses. She has also needed Enoxaparin from time to time, which they have to give by needle. This would work well on a normal kid, but for Sara is causes large bruising at the site because she bleeds even after pressure is held for 20 minutes. We're thankful that this weekend has been going well for her, and her levels are were they need to be!
We're still hoping Sara will receive a new heart soon, knowing it has ups & downs of its own, but looking forward to that road that takes us home again. Thanks for praying for us and for our friends who are also struggling with health issues here- Isabel, Hope, Joell, Morgan, Precious, Lukas, Muskan, Alexis, and Cohen.
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 Thank you Jesus that we can come to you for our every need!
